Who Can Join?
Membership is open to all families who would like to borrow from our collection. You don't have to be a Maroondah resident to join and some of our members don't have kids - they love our board games! We have a wide range of members - families, new migrants, grandparents, playgroups - and welcome all community members to join.
What's the Cost?
Annual Memberships
Prices from 1st November 2023
BASIC - Borrow up to 4 toys at a time, requires 6 hours volunteering per year - $110
STANDARD - Borrow up to 8 toys at a time, requires 6 hours volunteering per year - $150
PREMIUM - Borrow up to 8 toys at a time, no volunteering required - $225
* Standard and Premium members can also opt to pay an additional $60 per year to have an additional 4 toy allowance added to your membership.
Board Game and Puzzles Only Memberships
BOARD GAMES & PUZZLES STANDARD - Borrow up to 4 games at a time, requires 4 hours volunteering per year - $80
BOARD GAMES & PUZZLES PREMIUM - Borrow up to 4 games at a time, no volunteering required- $130
* Concession discount of 20% is available to Health Care, Carers or Seniors Card holders
* Fees can be paid online via PayPal, credit card or bank transfer, or by card at a session.
Membership Inclusions
What Else Do I Need to Know?
‘Basic’ and ‘Standard’ members are required to volunteer their time for 6 hours per year (3 x 2-hour blocks) to aid in running the toy library. Maroondah Toy Library is volunteer run and without your help we couldn't offer such a great service for such a low price. Doing volunteer duty is also great fun and as a bonus you get to borrow from our fantastic Duty Toy section of super popular toys, including toys worth over $400.
We understand not everyone can or wants to volunteer, so our ‘Premium’ membership is designed for these families. The additional fees help us cover our running costs, as we receive no ongoing funding. Premium members can still borrow a toy from our Duty Toy section three times a year.
Our standard borrowing period is three weeks but you are welcome to return your toys and borrow new ones as often as you like. You can also renew your toys for a further three weeks via the online membership portal with the exception of Duty Toys, No Renew and Party Hire toys.
If you've been a member in the past and would like to join, simply drop into a session and we will reactivate your membership - no need to fill in another new membership form online.
Gift Memberships
Why buy just one toy when you can gift them the whole store! A toy library membership is the perfect gift.
You can choose from our 'Basic', 'Standard' or 'Premium' 12 month memberships options for a gift card. To purchase, please fill in the application form below using the purchaser's (your) details and then pay via PayPal or credit card. Once your application is approved a gift card with a three year expiry will be emailed to you ready to give to your recipient.
The recipient is welcome to upgrade their membership at any time. This can include adding 4 more toys to their borrowing allowance. Recipients can also upgrade to a 'Premium' membership, which means there is no duty volunteering required.
